What Tangens does
Tangens is a sourcing-request-based marketplace connecting specialty chemical and technical service providers to the businesses who need it.
Instead of cold calls and distributor rep relationships, buyers post a sourcing need once and let vendors compete for their business. Getting multiple offers helps ensure the customer gets the best solution at the best value. Vendors browse real, qualified demand and unlock the leads worth pursuing.
Tangens is currently free for buyers to place a request, and the lead unlock fee for vendors is modest compared to the potential upside of deals typically worth 5 or 6 figures annually.
About me
I spent two summers in the industrial water treatment industry, at paper mills and mines focusing more on the application and engineering side rather than the larger business picture. In the summer of 2026, I worked on the Food & Beverage chemical solutions side and witnessed what I felt to be an inefficient sales process. I knew there had to be a way that better allowed buyers to find the best fit for their needs, and a way for vendors to find inbound leads rather than cold outbound ones. So I built it.
I graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and am finishing up my MBA with a Management focus at Ave Maria University. Snowiest campus to sunshine and gators. A collegiate cross country and track athlete, I know how taking tangents within the course boundaries allows you to run the shortest distance possible. I elected Tangens as the name (Latin for tangent), because it is a shortcut for both businesses with needs and vendors with solutions to run a more efficient operation.
